Here are the monthly plots of temperature and precipitation departures for the state of Illinois for 2013, updated through the end of July. Departures are based on the 1981-2010 average. [Revised August 13 with release of data from the national archive].
Cooler than average conditions prevailed in March, April, and July. Warmer than average conditions occurred in January and to a lesser extent in May. February and June were near-average.
Wetter than average conditions prevailed in January, February, April, May, and June. March was near-average while July was below average. In terms of departures, we have seen a steady decline from April to July from over three inches above average to over one inch below average.
